This is a view of some old farmhouses and outbuildings near Sarlat in France.
The light and colour unify the painting, with an overall warmth of the earth colours which overwhelm and run into each other – even the sky is pretty warm!
By keeping the handling of the paint rather loose, there is the feeling of a hot summers day, which it was when I painted it last August.
