Commissioning Artwork
Commissioning an artwork is a good way to own an artwork that you really want but you couldn’t find it from the existing catalogue. We accept commissions for landscapes, figures, portraits, and works on paper.
Like this painting, it was commissioned by the owner of this magnificent old country house in France. This is a magnificent house, and definitely worthy of the attention.
Again like this one, it was commissioned by an enthusiastic collector who wanted to give it as a gift for a friend’s birthday. How romantic!
The nature of a commission is very dynamic. It is recommended that you discuss the type of the commission, the subject, the size & colour, the style, and the fees with Jean David directly by telephone +61 (0) 420 379 476, or email him JD@JeanDavidFineArt.com
Once the theme, timeframe, and fee have been agreed, 30% of the total
commission fee is required to be paid prior to the commencement of the
commission. The rest of payment will be due once you accept the artwork.
However, if payment is not received within 4 weeks after the acceptance
of the work, then the deposit is forfeited, and you relinquish any interest
or commitment to the commissioned artwork. Naturally, if there is difficulty
in meeting these requirements, Jean will be happy to negotiate a delayed
payment agreement. A delayed fees may be chargeable.
You will of course have a reasonable right not to accept the work if it doesn't meet your expectations. If the artist could not deliver within the agreed timeframe, you are entitled to have a refund for the full deposit.
Commission Fees
The price of any commission specified here is only providing you with a general guideline. It is recommended to discuss your requirements with Jean directly to get an accurate figure.

Delivery Charges
Delivery charges are determined by the dimensions of the artwork and the destination of the package.
We use a professional transportation company yet you are more than welcome to organise your own collection by a third party.
Costs range from $18.00 for a small print yet can be up to $340 for original artwork delivered within Australia. International will need to be quoted.
Confirmation of delivery charges will be calculated and discussed with you when you place your order.
Any artwork published in this web
side is available for sale except for those marked as 'Private Collection'.
All works are available with or withour frame, and can be shipped anywhere
in the world.
