• After a successful career of more than 20 years in the IT industry, Jean made a decision to revert back to what he always passionate about - painting. • He studied at the Julian Ashton Art School (JAAS) in Sydney which was established in 1890, and has been one of the most influential and prestigious in Australia. • The training was academic, traditional, and very hard work. It gave him ability and skills to remain true to the form when working with portraits and figuratively.

• During the three years studying for the degree, Jean developed an appreciation for the abstraction of form and colour which is now so pronounced in his landscape paintings. • He has most deliberately nurtured a (relatively) unique ability to work in both traditional and contemporary methods which enables him to produce works that have a wide range of appeal. |
